CARDIAC MONITOR
EKG(ELECTRICAL SIGNAL)/ BLOOD FLOW (ANALOG SENSOR)MONITOR

DESCRIPTION

The monitor combines electrical(EKG) signals that are internally generated in the heart and the analog pulse (blood flow), sensed externally at a finger, toe or ear lobe.

The EKG electrodes are placed on the right and left side of the individuals chest with strap on the left leg for gnd. reference and noise cancellation.

Plot 1
Shows actual plot generated from the pulse at a finger.

Plot 2
Shows EKG signal generated by the heart

Plot 3
Depicts the trace of both of the above combined. The time per division at the bottom of the screen determines the pulse rate as well as the delay between when the heart says GO and when the actual pulse reaches the finger.

ADVANTAGES

This is unique in that the actual delay can be determined on the simple chart indicating e.g. “hardening of the arteries” This device shows more possible problems than a regular 16 electrode EKG can. The delay is not available on a regular EKG.

NOTE: A physician friend of mine told me that there is less delay when a patient has this problem.
